About the Maker
Heirloom Farms was established in 2012 as a small family farm growing organic, heirloom variety produces, maple syrup and honey from just a few bee hives. Since 2012 we have been increasing the size of the apiary every year and the bees have become our main focus on the farm. We have transferred our mission of keeping our food free of any chemicals or pesticides into our honey production. Many beekeepers use chemicals to treat their hives during the entire season, even when nectar is being brought in. We do not use any of those products during that time, even the “organic” options. We instead use a very time-consuming heat treatment that the bees cannot become resistant to. We believe this is the best option for the bees and us. We hope you appreciate that as much as we do. Our honey is 100% raw, minimally filtered, and not pasteurized. In the very near future, we hope to have other products available such as bee pollen and wax candles.
